Inspired!

Hugh Jackman is my hero. He's a dad in midlife--and he's in serious shape!

I am active and eat healthy--but I needed just an extra nudge to get serious about fitness. I got a health coach named Pam and have worked hard to get into shape. I have more energy for Taekwondo, and for my whole life. Even my writing benefits when I feel great!

I've had plenty of excuses to be out of shape. But my journey has been a long one. Starting back ten years ago when I first read The Sugar Blues and gave up refined sugar. Over time I educated myself more on the hazards of junk food and the benefits of healthy, whole foods and vitamins. And then I had to do something that made activity a part of my daily life so I opted for Taekwondo. Not only has it provided quality time with my son, but it has been very enjoyable! I have found my "thing" that makes exercising a pleasure!

You inspire me, Jo. You are a whirlwind of activity and zest. Good for you. Of course, I exercise with images of Olivia Wilde in my head! LOL.

Did you get Victor's mug?

Well, it is working, because those are some awesome pictures! I generally keep myself in pretty good shape and eat well, for the most part, but I have really failed that this summer. I've been comfort eating a bunch of junk, haven't been working out much, etc. The kids start school on Monday, and I have set that as the day for me to get exercising, cook more at home, and get writing. The fact that I'm excited about it and not dreading it is a good sign, I think. One day I'd love to sign up for Kempo with my kids, but the cost is a bit steep for that right now.

I.Love. You.
I've just gotten back on the fitness train after losing the initial baby weight then falling off the wagon. Here I go again and thanks to you, I have a reason to *not* give up.

You are an inspiration Jo! Countless women out there have retired to the thought of sacrificing their health and well being for their children, jobs and other responsibilities, but you decided that you don't have to choose--you can do both! That's what makes you Wonderwoman in my opinion.

For a mom and wife, you look A-mazing! Dare I say, there's no way you're a average woman. You're a supermodel so stop lying to us! :D

Jojo, Anson had Levi take pictures of his abs today and told me to send them to Aunt Jo. :) Both of you inspire me. Anson has truly overcome so much with low muscle tone and gross motor delays and works out EVERYDAY on his own, because of him I can now do 10 push-ups when I couldn't do any. And because of you I have not eaten refined sugars and flours for 7 years, thanks for not giving up on me the first three years you encouraged me and I failed. Also because of you, Anson and Levi have requested to start Tae Bo, I think we will start when school starts in September.... I LOVE you sis for so many reasons, but this is just one more that gives me the kick in the pants that I need. muah!

Your six pack puts me to shame! I have to work hard at exercise, being naturally pretty lazy. I tend to go through spurts but it's not regular. But I've made time for writing, so I should make time for this, too!

My dad is a black belt taekwondo master and actually teaches a class in the club he's a part of. I did it for a few years, but I never really got into it. I made it to blue belt. But I think it's awesome that my dad does it, and it's awesome that you do it too. I'm inspired to exercise because I know I'm happier when I've been active, and that means the people close to me are infected by my happier moods too. Which is always a good thing. :)

Awesome! You could be Buffy's stunt double in those pics :)

I've been doing martial arts for 16 years now and I love it, but I was ready for something a little less intense. I've recently taken up yoga and I love it - it helps stay flexible and strong, and reminds me to breathe :) So you could say that right now, yoga is my inspiration!
