F is for Fitzwilliam, Firth and McFadyen



Fitzwilliam Darcy ... the fantasy man for so many women. One of literature's most beloved and complex romantic heroes.Will he rescue the damsel (from the likes of Wickham) or allow her to flounder (as he did to Elizabeth at the ball)? I find it interesing how he is so full of contradictions:

Proud, shy, refined, misunderstood, loyal, passionate, reserved, kind, intolerant, smooth, awkward, intelligent, clueless... know what I mean? But in the end... adorable and did I mention WEALTHY?



 As far as I'm concerned there are only two actors who embodied Fitzwilliam Darcy--Colin Firth and Matthew McFadyen. Fantastic actors and mighty fine.


 




What do you think of Fitzwilliam Darcy? Over rated or pretty awesome?

I'm secure enough in my masculinity to admit that Colin Firth is my man crush. lol

Not big on the books but I have always enjoyed the movie versions.

I've always adored Darcy. I loved him in the books. I never cared for the movie.

I am solidly on Team Darcy. And although I find Colin Firth to be simply irresistible (I was drooling throughout the entire "King's Speech), Matthew McFayden really does take the cake in the Hot Department.

Heck, I'll just take 'em both. Why choose? :)

Well, Colin Firth could be in any movie, and I'd love him. Love Mr. Darcy too. Who wouldn't connect with such a fabulous character? Fabulous 'F' post! Thanks for sharing. Happy Thursday! :o)

I'm reading Writing the Breakout Novel Workbook by Donald Maass right now, and he really stresses how important it is for a character to have contradictions. I guess none of us are black and white. :)

FIRTH!!! By far the best Darcy ever. But, I AM sort of biased since he is on my list. You know which kind of list I'm talking about. If you ask me though, it is Firth all the way. Darcy is awesome.

You know Colin Firth is Mark with hair? It's his fake acting name, Mark just wanted to be modest with family members, fame is tough on a guy you know.
